Tracks of the Minotaur is an independent research and writing website available at emtbcrete.gr
The website publishes material relating to Crete, including historical research, field investigations, landscape, E-MTB journeys, books and related subjects.
Personal information
Tracks of the Minotaur does not provide visitor accounts, comments, contact forms, newsletters, online purchasing or other facilities through which visitors are routinely asked to provide personal information.
I do not intentionally collect or maintain visitors’ names, email addresses, postal addresses, telephone numbers or similar personal information through the website.
The website does not permit visitors to upload files, photographs or other material.
Technical information and website hosting
Like other websites, limited technical information is necessarily processed when somebody visits the site so that pages can be delivered and the website can be operated securely.
This may include:
• IP address;
• browser and device information;
• operating system;
• date and time of access;
• pages or resources requested; and
• information contained in normal server and security logs.
This information is processed for the purposes of operating, maintaining and protecting the website, rather than for advertising or profiling.
The website is hosted by Papaki, a brand of Enartia Single Member S.A. Papaki states that its systems process technical information including IP addresses and browsing information for monitoring, security and service provision. It also states that website logs relating to hosted websites may be retained for a maximum of two years for website-protection purposes.
Legal basis for technical processing
Where technical personal data are processed in connection with the operation and security of the website, the purpose is the legitimate interest in providing, maintaining and protecting a functioning and secure website.
Cookies
The public website does not use comments or visitor accounts and does not deliberately set cookies for those purposes.
WordPress uses authentication and settings cookies when an authorised administrator logs into the website. These cookies are required for administration of the WordPress site and are associated with the administrator rather than ordinary visitors.Ia do not use visitor cookies for advertising or marketing purposes.
Comments
Comments are disabled on Tracks of the Minotaur.
Visitors cannot submit comments, names, email addresses or website details through article comment forms.
Contact forms and mailing lists
The website does not operate a public contact form.
It does not operate a newsletter or mailing list and does not collect visitor email addresses for marketing or promotional purposes.
Visitor accounts
Visitors cannot register for accounts on Tracks of the Minotaur.
Administrative accounts used to maintain the website are private and are not available to the public.
External links
Articles and other material may contain links to external websites.
Following an external link takes the visitor to a separate website operated by another organisation or individual. The privacy practices and data processing of that external website are governed by its own policies and are outside the control of Tracks of the Minotaur.
Embedded content
If third-party material such as video, maps or other externally hosted content is embedded directly within the website in future, that provider may be capable of processing information about visitors viewing the embedded material.

Who receives technical information
Technical information necessary for hosting and securing the website may be processed by Papaki/Enartia as the hosting and infrastructure provider.
I do not sell, rent or provide visitor information to advertisers or marketing organisations.
How long information is retained
I do not maintain a database of visitor names, email addresses, comments, contact-form submissions or mailing-list details because those facilities are not provided by the website.
Technical and security information generated through normal website hosting may nevertheless be retained by the hosting provider.
Papaki currently states that website logs may be retained for a maximum of two years, while certain categories of telecommunications traffic data may be retained for one year where applicable.
Automated decision-making and profiling
I do not use information obtained through Tracks of the Minotaur to make automated decisions about visitors or to create marketing profiles.
